However the high elves looked foreign to me. The Wood Elves (as they looked in the 4th and 5th edition) were more familiar to me. Only the Punks aka Wardancers weren't my favorites. Hence I got a box of these cheap terrible plastic unipose archers. The Champion was a gift from the shop owner where I buyed all my stuff. He just started selling Warhammer (more or less) and got it from GW for free. It's a metal waywatcher model. Back in these times I thought every regiment should have a banner. Well... Actually this is one of my worst paint jobs I did ever. However I tried something like dipping - but I used a brush and washes.... Now I wrote enough boring stuff from my beginnings. Here are my Woodies from the 90s (please don't laugh): ![]() I won't post a bigger picture... the paintjob is not so good. |

Hi there!
I got a increasing number of visits for this blog. Sure there is just a single reason: I'm part of a bit more modern type of classic web ring - The WFB Allies. |

5th Edition Brets
After I painted my HeroQuest minis and the Skinks from White Dwarf I finally got the starter Box. The Box contained Lizardmen and Bretons. I think I started with another knight first. I used metalic blue enamel on a horse and shiny silver. Well, that Knight was never finished. But then I bought Citadel's acrylic paint and as you can see: I painted 3 Knights. |

The story began
How to start...hm.. When I was really young a friend of mine hat battlemasters. I loved that game but my parents haven't bought it for me. I wasn't really unhappy because I did not know where to unfold the gaming "landscape - and I could go to my friend for gaming! A bit later HeroQuest was released and I got a basic game. I liked it but my friends weren't big fans of the game. Then there was nothing like table top in my life. Many years later I buyed my very first white dwarf. The 5th edition of WHFB was released. It also contained two plastic skinks - and I was on fire. I like Fantasy stuff and I like modelling - but I'm not such a big fan of trains like my brother is. Therefore I really liked the idea of a wargaming game like Warhammer. I painted the two skinks with enamels. Thes are really my first painted mini's (if I remember right) ![]() The photo is as bad as the paint job. Later I recognized that the HeroQuest minis are the same scale. I cannot remember in which order I painted them all. At least the pics are nice :) ![]() The Alb was blacklined afterwards with a fine liner. Despite its bad paintjob I use him as tree-singing sorcerer sometimes - because he is painted and others aren't. |
